I am sobbing. This book was incredible. I can't even express the utter despair and sadness this book elicited in me while still being such a wholesome and heartwarming story. Please read this but make sure you are prepared for emotional annihilation

This book was the definition of “dragging it”. With the ending of Ash princess, I thought the author could open up a lot of different potential plot points and storylines. But genuinely if I was stuck in a room and all I had was this book it still wouldve took me 2 months. I just couldnt get past not only the never ending dialogues of nothing, but also the weird portrayal of Sta’Crivero. I might be reaching but it felt very stereotypically in the way the people were described. I had a feeling it was supposed to be a representation of the Middle East??? She describes the land as super hot, no water, and pretty much old rich men that take multiple wives and treat them badly…it was weirdddd. Anyway I might be biased in that but overall this book is boring. The only thing good about this book was the ending. It was fairly interesting but also very annoying. The main character, Theodosia, specifically. I believe shes supposed to be like 16? but the way her maturity was written felt more childish. When faced with the option of killing Cress, right there and then, SHE HESITATES?? I understand they were friends, but even in the first book she describes the friendship more like an owner and their dog. I dont really understand it, but I might just be annoyed at the character. If she had just killed Cress, and had Soren become the Kaiser (although politically challenging it wouldve been possible), then he could take his people elsewhere. Idk this book left me bored and confused, but ready for the next ??

I liked the book enough but it was also terrible. It was a slow read, then a fast read x10. The main character Janie was lowkey annoying. But her "best friend" Sarah-Charlotte is such a concided brat. Basically the plot line with no spoilers is that Janie is a regular 15 year old girl. But one day she's playing around and steals her friends milk carton. She sees the missing child thing and sees her own toddler face staring back at her. Then for the rest of the book she tries to find out the mystery. I might read the sequel to see if its better though.

Wow. Just wow. The first one was great. The second one was great. The third one is going to be great. I don't even know what to say. Cliffhanger 101. Lots of character development and world building. This was a whirlwind for sure! I was not expecting everything that happened but it was AMAZING!!!

Typical Freida book, but a bit overly dramatic. I knew Naomi was completely unhinged, but it was just a little over the top. Too many evil people.

Not as good as I had hoped. Still finished it, but hoped it would get better. It didn't.

This one started slowly but turned into such a wonderful romance that only Abby Jimenez seems to be capable of.

This book had a good premise (4 people with insomnia who meet in an online group and end up meeting at a diner and becoming friends) but after first half I found myself skimming along to the end. Just ok.

This book is four stars because it was very interesting to read. I liked that it was a frame story with Walton telling Victor’s story to his sister. I also really enjoyed hearing the story of the creature. It gave a lot more depth to his character and explained his actions throughout the story.

This genre is not my favorite by far but the Cult of Carl just keeps trying to suck me in. There are moments where it is enjoyable and then the rest you kind of have to sludge through. In this installment, Carl figures out a way to "stick it to the man". It'll be interfering to see what the next book holds when I eventually get to it.
