Impossible to put down. Full of suspense and a good dystopian book. The main character Juliette is strong and powerful and I loved seeing her voice change throughout the book.

Such a unique world and magic system. Incorporated Slavic folklore. Beautiful written with an ending that I didn't see coming but ended up being absolute perfection.

After Annie

2.5 stars. I've enjoyed Anna Quindlen in the past, and this book felt true to style--to the point where I kept getting confused when they made any references to post-1990s technology. (I kept thinking that the story takes place in the '90s because that's when I last read Anna Quindlen!) I didn't dislike the book, but it fell a little flat for me. I expected the description of the grieving process through the lens of three different characters would be more interesting, but I only enjoyed one of the three stories, and the one I did like wound up wrapping a little too neatly for me in the end. Not a bad story, but I wouldn't go out of my way to read this one.

How The King Of Elfhame Learned To Hate Stories
by Holly Black

A collection of short, heartwarming tales about Cardan and his life before and after the events of The Folk of the air series. I loved seeing Cardans perspective as it showing his cunning and mischievous thought process. It is also cool to see how he began to think about Jude way back when they were kids. It never really made sense to me before but now I get it. Although, it was really sad to see how Cardan was raised in such a neglectful household, very different from Judes.

A Gathering Of Shadows

A very adventurous second installment in the series. Lots of action coinciding with a fleshing out or established characters and introductions to new ones. The world of the series was also elaborated upon further enriching the story. A cliffhanger ending sets up the next book perfectly.

Action packed. Fantastic author.

The Sheltering Sky

This novel tells the tragic love story of an American couple who are traveling across North Africa. There is action, peril and the clash of values between travelers and locals. It is a warning about the ignorance of cultures that are alien to Americans. Be aware of dated language.

The book Aliens in Disguise is about two kids named David and Amy. The grandmother owns a bed and breakfast called the Intergalactic Bed & Breakfast. It's a place where aliens can go for vacation on Earth. Their grandmother has to go away and they are in charge of the bed & breakfast. They have to make sure that nobody finds out that there are aliens staying there. I rate this book as five stars. It was a great read and definitely recommend.
